Weekend Catch Up

Well, where to start???

We did have a nice wkend. We went to camp in Blomidon Park with Bern, Jeff, Emma and all our crew. The park was beautiful. We didn't have time for a hike or the beach, but I know it would have been spectacular. The view was amazing, and the tides were incredible. Hope to go back again someday to enjoy that park.

The campsites were excellent - even if it did rain pine needles half the time. The kiddies got along great! We went to Agrifest. It was okay. It was more geared toward the farmer and not as much for kids there as I thought. On the way back to the site, it started to rain. Tough luck for us!!

But, it did clear up and we had a nice meal ... eventually! Nice evening by the campfire and the kids all slept well.

Next day we had a nice breakfast and headed out. We weren't ready to come home and wanted "more" to do. So, we went to Oaklawn Zoo. http://oaklawnfarmzoo.ca/

It was GREAT - well, we loved it anyway. There was a part of us that was really sad to see some of the animals caged. Some looked really lonely and some just didn't seem to have much room. But, others were very happy and entertaining. Makayla's favorite was the monkeys - of course!! - and Phaedra's favorite was the pony ride. The baby loved the goats, sheep and geese. We had a picnic there and made a day of it. Got lots of pictures too and will post some once I figure out how to do that on this site.

Once we got home, we had cleaning and unpacking and bedtime to do. And that made us wonder - why did we do this??? And we decided it pretty much wasn't worth it for one overnight. And we also realized that we barely have enough room to take all our stuff - crazy!!!!
