Holy dyin' - I was behind!!! Guess having blogger open on my pc for the last 4 days hasn't helped. Am glad to get caught up on all the news now though.
Life is good. Had a really nice weekend. Went to an all day scrap and had a nice visit with Berna. I had a headache and felt spacy so the day was cut short. Eager to get at it again though! On Sunday, we all went out to Elaine and Jim's for a turkey dinner, visit and little party for D. Was trying to arrange to get together with more little ones, but his bday was a month ago and life isn't slowing down any so we just wanted to get it done. Not overwith like it sounds, but just didn't want to let it go any longer.
It was a great day. The food was amazing, the company was great and the cake turned out terrifically!!! I had nothing to do with it. It was a train. Mark had to bake it twice and then he even icinged the whole thing. I don't think that's a word. Chris even helped with the final touches. Anyway, the cake looked amazing and the baby lost it when he saw it. He was sooooooooooo excited because Mark decorated the train to look just exactly like Thomas. And once we cut it, I don't know if he knew to eat it or cry. So, he ate it and loved it. So precious!
And to see him open his gifts was a hoot. He was doing the big suck in of breath that you do when you are awed. And he was so cute about ripping the paper off. Loved to watch it. Then had lots of fun playing with the new toys. Doesn't take much at all to please him. And he is just so funny to watch the way he reacts to the world. Sweet!!
Makayla and I are still going to milling, and she's doing well. She's in the running club and choir and a mad science program. Sounds like a lot, but it is all at school or just after, so really easy and no stress to get to it.
Phaedra has been more whiny lately than ever. Not sure what's going on with her besides the fact that she never gets enough sleep. A tricky challenge to have them all in the same room.
I'm still dreaming all the time about moving away. And loving the gaelic. And went out canoeing with the 4 kids and Mark yesterday. Probably a little too much weight in the canoe but we made out okay. It was windy and a bit tippy, but the kids were all really really good. I just find paddling to be so relaxing, and the trees were gorgeous. And the colour of the sky and clouds, it all just looked like magic. And I was able to enjoy all of this amid the kids yakking and Mark growling about my bad steering ability :) I couldn't remember which stroke was to turn me what way ... short term memory. Only learned it all at BOW.
I was so very proud of myself that I was able to help Mark get the canoe on and off the van, out of the garage, and walked it down to the lake. That was a huge accomplishment for me as the bugger is really really heavy.
Anyway, we might get out again before the snow flies. I hope mark and I might be able to pack some gear and go out on an overnight camping/canoeing trip sometime. I think it would be awesome!!
That's all for now folks - more sooner than later I hope!!
