Had a really great weekend. Went to Hil and Hayley's with Berna to do games and facials and visit. It was a really nice visit and nice to get out. Even though I was so tired I could have curled up there and slept. And would have loved to have had a drink but had to drive :( Hope we can do it again sometime!!
On Sunday we went to B&Js for supper that Ivetta cooked. She did an awesome job. The meal was great. And the company was even better. And the kids behaved WAY better than I thought they would. It was really nice. Thanks!
Berna made the most precious valentine's for the kids - they were thrilled and I just might steal that idea too :)
Makayla couldn't make it. I spent at least 1 and a half hours on the phone trying to figure out different scenarios so that she could see him and B&J. But he is too difficult and thinks only of himself. Makayla was really bummed to miss out, but we'll just have to get over there another time.
We did some quick caching along the way. Also had some great caching fun with Reg and Amber. We got out for a bunch of days in a row even though it was cold. It was awesome. One of them was the most bushwhacking I've ever done.
Also, we went skating with the kids and had Elaine & Jim over. Phaedra was really scared to go, but I pushed her and she had a great time once she got there and wants to go back. Mya is really getting the hang of it and Makayla is doing awesome. I am terrified. I would NOT let it stop me though. I am only 30 and I am scared to get on the rides at the fair, afraid of heights, and could barely even stand to try to skate. But, I did. And I didn't fall. It was great. My feet and ankles got really sore really quick ... totally out of shape. Went a couple of more times and got better each time and didn't even fall. Although I forget just about everything I ever learned about skating! Not like riding a bike at all!
Felt really good getting out anyway ... can't think of what else is new. Went to Jamieson's with Mark on Wed night. Really good and very nice to get out with him and connect. Feels like we haven't had a real conversation in at least two weeks. Just so much going on and lots of chaos and being really busy.
Got invited to a girls wkend today, but don't think I'll be able to make it :( too short notice and DH will be working.
That's all for now ... not much new. Just never thought I'd be out this much in the cold winter. I have finally learned to dress for it :) Can't wait to shop for rubber boats come spring.
Oh yeah, and I met my first cacher too .... we were heading out to Mic Mac Island across the ice. It was good and solid and safe, but I was nervous. It was making creaky noises and my heart was a-thumping! As we approached the island with my heart pounding, someone shouted
hello - and I screamed!!!
God knows what he thought, but he was a kind fella with a sweet dog and it was the dog that found the cache. He's been doing it since 2002 when there were only 14 caches in NS. Now there are 2500!!! Yeehaw - he's got 1600+ finds .. and I've got 18 :)
Ciao for now!
