It is that time of year again ... of change, of new beginnings, and of being inspired to get things done.
Makayla started school yesterday. She is in Grade 4 now. Grade 4. Was I even pregnant??? I can still remember the first day when she started primary. We were holding hands walking up to the school and she looked so big to me. I just couldn't believe that I had been pregnant and had had her. And that she was now soooooooo grown up that she was old enough to start school. I remember wondering, "How did this happen?"
And now that memory seems like almost a lifetime ago. Just nuts. Truly crazy.
She really likes her teacher which is great, and I know that she'll have a great year. But, it has been sad for her. Emily, her best friend in the world, is not in her class. And it is tough on them both. But, I think it'll be good for them to know that they'll still be close despite that fact, and that each one will be okay without the other. But, they are sorely disappointed :(
She did look great though in an outfit she shopped for and co-ordinated herself and did her own hair design. She looked terrific and felt great. What a cutie!!
Phaedra is having her own little milestone too. She is now in Unit 3 at daycare. Next, she'll move to unit 4 in the basement and then onto big school. It is like a little piece of letting go each time. She is getting so old too. Not big :) But old. It is hard to believe.
And Mya started grade primary this year too. She looked absolutely gorgeous. She has mixed feelings about school so far. But, a friend from daycare is in her class and she has a sweet teacher.
So, here's to lots of learning, laughter and fun for the girls this year!!

My goodness, my god-girls are growing up so fast! I remember the day I found out Makayla was born. I was sooo excited and couldn't wait to meet her. Then to be present for Phaedra's delivery. What an honour! Her birth made me realize how much I wanted a baby of my own. And now they're both growing up to be exceptional young ladies.

My dear god-girls...
I remember vividly finding out Makayla was born and anticipating meeting her.
And I was so honours to be present at Phaedra's delivery.
You too are becoming quite the exceptional young ladies. :)
