X Marks the Spot

We found our first geocache!!!! Wooooooooo hoooooooooooo!!!

Phaedrea, Makayla and I went out looking this morning. There was one near the Cole Harbour Heritage Farm http://www3.ns.sympatico.ca/farmmuseum/ and we hadn't gotten there yet this summer, so seemed like a great choice.

It rained last night so we decked out in boots - unwillingly I might add - and long pants to save from thorn scratches. The GPS seemed much more accurate this time. The cords were reading 7 ft away when we found the cache.

Last time, we couldn't get closer than 35 ft and if we kept going, we'd have been in the lake. I bet you we were right around it and just didn't find it. D'oh! We'll go back to try again sometime.

Anyway, the girls were excited. Makayla took a "Kiss me I'm Irish" pin, and Phaedra took a mermaid keychain. We left a flashlight and some Halloween stickers. It was nice that there were toys in there. In fact, it was ALL kid stuff. A really nice hobby to do as a family. There are some really awesome ones that I'd love to do with some grown ups.

Mari - that means you!! :) Check this one out! http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=961eee2f-4d16-4205-8956-ecb5ab4f8bae Are there any other interested parties out there?? I am thinking I need to get a bit more experience before I try this one out!! :)

The girls had great fun though, and there's tonnes more in our area that we can go check out from time to time. There are a lot of playground ones too!!
